In 1850 and 1860 Cyrus lived with his family in Scott, Adams County, Ohio. Rebecca Burns died in 1865 and Andrew Burns soon remarried; in 1870 he and Jane Moore Burns (1806-1888) lived in Highland County, Ohio. Cyrus lived with Thomas and Emily Fulton and worked as a farm laborer in Livingston County, Illinois. By 1880 Andrew and Jane, with two of Andrew's children, had moved to McLean County, Illinois. I was unable to find Cyrus in the 1880 US Census, but in the 1900 Census Cyrus and Mary Etta (who had married circa 1881) lived in Spokane City where Cyrus worked as a contractor. Mary Etta had given birth to six children, all of whom were living with their parents in Spokane. Those children were: * Katherine (born 1882 in Colorado; may have had married name of "Hanford," and may have died 1980 in Longview, Kelso County, Washington;) * Robert Andrew (born 1884 in Spokane, Washington; married Theresa before 1917 and Ellen May before 1942; died 1948 in Humboldt County, California;) * William Henry Burns (1886-1947, born in Oregon;) * Gladys H. Burns (1888-1966, born in Washington;) * Cyrus Robert Burns, Jr. (born 1891 in Spokane; married Mabel, then Etta; and died 1974 in Marin County, California;) * Col. Murray Edwin Burns (1898-1971; born in Spokane;) and, Wallace Cedric Burns (1901-1970, born in Spokane.) By 1910 the family (Cyrus, Mary Etta, and four adult children: Robert, William, Gladys, and Cyrus, Jr.,) had moved to Tammany, Nez Perce County, Idaho, where Cyrus was self-employed as an "orchardist." The three sons who lived at home were employed as civil engineers. In 1920 the family (Cyrus, Mary Etta, and three adult children: Gladys, Col. Murray, and Wallace) lived in Lewiston, Nez Perce County. Cyrus (age 70) was not employed, but the children were: Gladys worked as a public school teacher; Murray and Wallace were engineers. Cyrus died 18 days after his 1920 US Census enumeration.
