Description	:	Mrs. Daisy Beatrice (Hester) Howell, long time resident of the Kiowa County community was buried with services at their farm homestead, ten miles northwest of Eads, Colorado next to her husband, Charles Hamilton (Ham) Howell who preceded her in death. Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m. with grandson’s serving as pallbearers. I.H. Criswell, long time friend, read from the Holy Scriptures and Mrs. Tom James sang, "Beyond the Bar", requested of her by Mrs. Howell before her death. Daisy Beatrice Hester was born April 12, 1886, at Chenoa, Illinois, to William James and Sarah Malinda (Clark) Hester. Daisy departed this life June 1, 1960 at the age of 74 years. Daisy was united in marriage to Charles H. Howell, Feb. 13, 1902, and in 1908 the couple moved to Eastern Colorado, homesteading 10 miles northwest of Eads, which had been their home much of the time since. Five children were born to this union, all of whom survive and were present at the services. They are Mrs. Helen Hollingsworth and Mrs. Shirley Crow of Eads; Clark Howell of Haswell; Floyd Howell of Pueblo, and Mrs. Marjorie Schmitt of Sharon Springs, Kansas; one sister, Mabel Corpe, Wheaton, Illinois; one brother, Harry Hester, Chenoa, Illinois: 9 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. Daisy was baptised into Christ on November 14, 1924. Mrs. Howell is laid to rest in a private family cemetery at the old Howell farm.
