Description	:	Funeral services for Mrs. Daisy Dodd, 52, of Roseland, who died at 7:00 a.m. Sunday at her home, were held this afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at Beech Grove Christian Church with the Rev. J. L. McKinney, of Lynchburg, officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Dodd was born at Love in Nelson County and was the daughter of Joseph and Mattie Demastus Coffey. She is survived by her husband, Eddie S. Dodd; one son, Melvin Dodd, at home; two daughters, Celia and Elizabeth Dodd, both at home; and a sister, Mrs. John Arnold, of Roseland. Waynesboro News Virginian-date of paper: November 11, 1940 BEECH GROVE, Nov. 13-Funeral services for Mrs. Daisy Elva Dodd, 52, who died at her home Sunday morning at 7 o'clock, were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Beech Grove Christian Church with the Rev. J. L. McKinney, of Lynchburg, officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Dodd was born at Love in Nelson County and lived in Nelson County all her life. She was the daughter of Joseph and Mattie Demastus Coffey. To mourn their loss are, her husband Eddie S. Dodd; one son, Melvin Dodd; two daughters, Misses Celia and Elizabeth Dodd, all at home; and a sister, Mrs. John Arnold of Beech Grove. Having been in ill health for some time, Mrs. Dodd was happy and cheerful always. She was an exceptional woman in many ways, a wonderful neighbor and a loyal friend. She united with the church the age of 10 years and had been a member of the Beech Grove Church for 26 years, having served as treasurer of the Sunday School for a number of years. Active pallbearers were: Worthy Thompson, Mulford Campbell, Haywood Campbell, Berkley Campbell, Staige Falls and LaVelle Falls. Honorary pallbearers, who also carried the flowers were: Clarence Campbell, Delmas Campbell, Edd Ewing, Arthur Ewing, Jeter Goodwin and Layman Dodd.
