Obituary From "Ottumwa Daily Courier," Friday, April 27, 1945, Page 14: Mrs. Daisy Bassi, 70, wife of Arthur Bassi of Ottumwa, died Tuesday in General Hospital, Rock Springs, Wyo., having been in Rock Springs but two weeks. The daughter of Charles and Teresa Marks, she was born in Mons, Belgium, November 3, 1874. She was married to Gustave Dubois in 1891 in Belgium, and came to the United States in 1910. Mr. Dubois died February 13, 1919. They were the parents of six children, Charles D. Dubois, Gustave A. Dubois, both of Ottumwa; Mrs. Celine Dooley, Ottumwa; Mrs. Louisa Colson, Wapello; Mrs. Julia Fowles, Hazel Park, Mich.; Mrs. Bertha Goodsell, Ottumwa. All survive their mother. There are also 19 grandchildren, four grandsons being in the service, and 14 great-grandchildren. In 1922 Mrs. Dubois was married to Mr. Bassi. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Johnson chapel, the Rev. E.R. Rehm of the Christian and Missionary Alliance church, in charge. Pallbearers will be Lewis Dubois, Gus Dubois, Jr., Irwin Goodsell, Jr., John Reck, George Colson, Carl Eckroat, and Elmer R. Carr.
