Ferry St., died at 8:35 a.m. March 15, 1991, at Good Samaritan Center in Ottumwa. She was born Nov. 23, 1899, in Mons, Belgium to Gustave and Dezire Mark DeBois. She married Harold Fowles on May 22, 1932; he died Aug. 3 [sic], 1969. A resident of Ottumwa most of her life, she had been a sales lady for Younkers Department Store in Ottumwa. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, a member and past matron Ottumwa Chapter 112 Order of the Eastern Star, was a post royal matron of Christina Court 3 of Amaranth and had been a member of Wapello White Shrine 4, World War I Barracks 1510, O.B. Nelson Unit 3 of American Legion Auxilary [sic] and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 114 Auxilary [sic]. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Louisa Colson, Celine Roberts and Bertha Goodsell and two brothers, Charles and Gustave DeBois [sic]. The service will be 3 p.m. Monday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, the Rev. Wayne Gjerde officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery in Ottumwa. Visitation is open. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wapello County, 312 E. Alta Vista Ave., Ottumwa.
