He was born April 23, 1944 in Oskaloosa to Teddy R. and Ruby Billings Kirby. He married Doris J. Pickens September 10, 1966 in Lancaster, Mo. a 1962 graduate of Ottumwa High School, he worked eight years for Valley Supply, 18 years for Everco, Industries and also Renfrew Trucking. He had attended First Church of the Open Bible and more recently the Trinity Church of the Nazarene. He is survived by his wife; a son, Ted; a daughter-in-law, Karen; two granddaughters, Brianna and Maleah all of Marion; three brothers, Steven of Ottumwa, David of Burlington and Mark of Muscatine; four sisters, Delores Wilkins of Davenport, Patricia Downing of Ottumwa, Barbara Ash of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Marilyn Paulding of DesMoines. He was preceded in death by his father; stepfather, Kenneth Paxton; and a sister, Carole Kirby The service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Trinity Church of the Nazarene, the Revs. Ken Paulding and James Pickens officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery in Ottumwa. Pallbearers will be Mark and David Kirby, Mark Mundell, Vernon Condor, Gary Long, and Rodger Renfrew. Visitation begins after 9 a.m. Tuesday at Alexander-Johnson Funeral Chapel with family visitation from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be paid to the Dale Allen Kirby Fund.
