Celebration of Life services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Cromwell United Church of Christ, in Cromwell, IA. Pastor Dan Moore and Chaplain Todd Daily will officiate. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Cromwell. Dale Dean Blazek was born September 9, 1931 in rural Cromwell in Adams County to George Arthur Blazek and Esther Rose (Vicker). He grew up in the Cromwell area and graduated from Cromwell High School in 1949. On November 25, 1950, Dale was united in marriage to Leota Mae "Tootie" James in the Cromwell Church, in Cromwell, IA. They settled on a farm in Adams County. They moved to Creston in 1957. In 1966, Blazek Trenching was established and Dale was co-owner/operator with his wife Leota. Dale was a member of the Cromwell United Church of Christ, Eagles Lodge #1398 of Creston and the Old Thyme Powers Club. Dale is survived by one son, Kevin (wife Marcy) Blazek of Greenfield, IA; one daughter, Sue (husband Jim) KinKennon of Papillion, NE; four grandchildren, Sara (husband Travis) Thomsen, of Sidney, NE; Chad (wife Amy) KinKennon, of O'Neill, NE; Kenneth Blazek of Greenfield, IA and Joel Blazek of Greenfield, IA; three great-grandchildren, Brayden and Brylee Thomsen of Sidney, NE and William KinKennon of O'Neill, NE; his sister Betty (husband Bill) Chapman of Creston; two sisters-in-law Daisy Blazek of Paullina, IA and Helen Blazek of Osceola. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Esther Blazek, his wife Leota "Tootie" in 2014, three brothers, Roy, Harold and Gene Blazek and one sister Martha Blazek.
