Description	:	Dale Gene Tolle, the son of Bert and Iva (Campbell) Tolle was born October 14, 1924 in Clay Center, Nebraska. He departed this life on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at the Memorial Community Health Care Center in Aurora, Nebraska at the age of 84 years. Dale attended school in Clay Center. He was inducted into the United States Army on May 5, 1942 and served in the Pacific during World War II, receiving the Purple Heart. Read More	Dale Gene Tolle, the son of Bert and Iva (Campbell) Tolle was born October 14, 1924 in Clay Center, Nebraska. He departed this life on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at the Memorial Community Health Care Center in Aurora, Nebraska at the age of 84 years. Dale attended school in Clay Center. He was inducted into the United States Army on May 5, 1942 and served in the Pacific during World War II, receiving the Purple Heart. Dale was united in marriage to Elzora Adams on April 4, 1946 at Mankato, KS. This union was blessed with the birth of four children, three sons and a daughter. Dale and Elzora were married for nearly 62 years. Dale was employed for many years by Werner Construction where he drove a gravel truck and did some mechanical work. Previously he worked in Conoco oil fields in Rangeley, Colorado and worked for the City of Edgar. Dale's hobbies included building and racing stock cars; his last car #60 was restored by Mike Overturf. He also enjoyed gardening and woodworking. Dale made many clocks, tables and lamps for family members, and about 100 plaques for Teammates mentors with a wood burned image of Tom Osborne. He was proud that Tom Osborne autographed a Husker football as a thank you. Dale loved having his grandchildren and great-grandchildren come and visit him. He especially loved teasing them and watching them play. Dale was known by many people as a big tease because he loved to give people a hard time. He had a very good sense of humor. Dale lived for many years in Edgar. For the past year he had lived with his daughter in Spirit Lake, Iowa. He considered his three oncology nurses at Spirit Lake to be his personal angels. In June he moved to the Memorial Community Care Center in Aurora. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Leonard, Orva, and infant brother Daniel, a sister Edna and wife, Elzora, on January 28, 2008. Survivors include his children: Patrick Tolle of Edgar, NE; Mike Tolle and wife Margaret of Edgar, NE; Elizabeth Stump and husband Bill of Spirit Lake, IA; Dan Tolle of Blue Hill, NE; grandchildren: Rebecca Haver and husband Jim of Omaha, NE; Christopher Tolle of Golden, CO; Amy Theesen and husband Cory of Hastings, NE; Jessica Tolle of Lincoln, NE; Dayle, Kyle and Samantha Tolle of Blue Hill, NE; great-grandchildren: Cody, James, and Brynn of Omaha, NE and Payton Wray of Lincoln, NE; other relatives and many friends. Dale will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Graveside services will be held this Tuesday 2:00 PM at the Edgar Cemetery, Edgar, NE. Rev. Stephen Price Gibson will be officiating. A register book will be available for signing at the funeral home on Monday from 10 am to 5 pm. Memorials to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. Williams Funeral Home of Edgar, NE is in charge of the arrangements.
