Description	:	Dale Irwin Philp, 87, of Keokuk died at 11:30 am on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at his daughter's home in Keokuk, Iowa. He was born on September 29, 1925, in Keokuk, Iowa, a son to Robert and Mabel Peterson Philp. He united in marriage to Dorothy Korschgen on April 17, 1960. She preceded him in death on March 1, 1990. Read More	Dale Irwin Philp, 87, of Keokuk died at 11:30 am on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at his daughter's home in Keokuk, Iowa. He was born on September 29, 1925, in Keokuk, Iowa, a son to Robert and Mabel Peterson Philp. He united in marriage to Dorothy Korschgen on April 17, 1960. She preceded him in death on March 1, 1990. Dale graduated from Keokuk High School in 1943. While in high school he worked on his uncle's dairy farm and delivered bottled milk to homes in Keokuk. He completed a course in electricity at Commercial Trades Institute in Chicago. He enlisted in the Army, serving two years. He attended an airline reservation training school in Los Angles and worked for the Flying Tigers Airline in San Francisco. He started work at the Hubinger Company in Keokuk in 1963, retiring January 1, 1986. After retiring, he worked four years for Clean Air Filters in Keokuk, cleaning industrial filters from the tri-state area and delivered the cleaned filters to the customers. He served as treasurer of the United Presbyterian Church in Keokuk for several years. His greatest enjoyment was traveling and camping with his wife, Dorothy, and daughter, Jackie, in their motor home, having visited every state except two in the United States. He was always proud to have served as local Chapter Leader in The John Birch Society, which is working to restore our American freedoms. Dale is survived by a daughter, Jackie Vradenburg and her husband Kirk of Keokuk, Iowa; two grandchildren; and one great granddaughter and one great grandson; one brother: Harold Philp of Keokuk, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Dorothy. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 11, 2013 at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center at 917 Blondeau Street with Dr. David Castrodale officiating. Burial with full military rites will be at Sandusky Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 pm on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Centers located at 917 Blondeau Street in Keokuk with family meeting with friends from 6 to 8. In Lieu of flowers, Dale requested donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
