Description	:	Daniel was the son of Col Jonathan Cummings and wife Anna S. (Brower). At age 70 Daniel married Helen F. Richardson in New Hampton. She was born in Holderness and resided in averhill and was age 53. It was the third marriage for both, he being widowed and she having been widowed and divorced. Helen was the daughter of Cyrus Plaisted and Eliza Rowe. Daniel's mother resided with him after the death of her second husband in 1878 until her death in 1895. Helen was the daughter of Cyrus Plaisted and Eliza Rowe. Daniel's mother resided with him after the death of her second husband in 1878 until her death in 1895. Daniel died from cardiac insufficiency. Burial was in Green Grove May 29, 1910, EG Gammons, undertaker, Ashland. He was married and a lifetime resident of New Hampton and died age 74, 10 mos and 9 days. Contributed by BLHughes: Obit for Daniel B. Cummings: A lifelong resident of this section died of heart failure last Friday evening at the Cummings home situate n the road to Meredith. Mr. Cummings' death was sudden, and although 75 years of age he was a remarkably smart man. He was born in New Hampton and would have been 75 years of age July 17th. His father is Jonathan Cummings and his mother is Ann S. Brown. During his entire life he had lived in this section and was a carpenter and farmer by trade. He had been married three times, his last wife surviving him. Besides his wife he leaves a brother, Andrew Cummings who resides in the West, and many other distant relatives. Mr. Cummings is a charter member of Chocorua Masonic Lodge of Meredith, having been a Mason for 49 years. He was also a member of Mt Hope Chapter, O.E.S. of Ashland. He was a staunch Democrat. Funeral was held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock. After a prayer at the home by Reverend Mr. Avery, the officiating clergyman, the body was taken to the Free Baptist Church where his many friends had gathered to pay their last respects. A local quartette rendered very fine music, Reverend Avery read choice portions from the Scriptures, and his remarks were helpful as those spoken by a close friend. Many beautiful flowers were placed on the casket, among them being a pillow, Husband from his wife; pillow with Masonic emblem, Mt Prospect Lodge, A F & A M; spray of roses; Mt Hope Chapter O.E.S; spray of roses, Mr. and Mrs. James Atkinson; pinks, Smith Sanborn and family; spray of lilies, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stevens; bouquet, Mrs. Wilson; spray of carnations, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Smith; roses, E.B. Eastman and family. The body was escorted to the family lot in Green Grove Cemetery by the Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star, where the former lodge had charge of burial services.
