Description	:	The Daily Item (Great Bend, Kansas) Saturday July 11, 1903 DEATH BY LIGHTNING Dan Meyers, of Northwest Fairview Township killed and Ben Meyers Injured Last evening at a little after 5 o'clock a lightning stroke killed Dan Myers and seriously injured his brother Ben Meyers. The brothers lived in Fairview township about five miles northwest of Galatia. They had taken refuge from the rain in a granary near where they were harvesting when the fatal bolt struck them. Both boys were children of Jacob T. Myers & Lydia Regina Hollopeter.
