Description	:	Daniel Fuller FISHER was a native of New Hampshire. He may have lived for sometime in Massachusetts as he married his first wife Mary Augusta BULLEN Feb. 12, 1861 in Salem, Essex Co, Massachusetts. They were the parents of two children: Walter Henry and Jennie Louisa. By 1870 they had settled in Denmark Twsp, Lee Co, Iowa [this is the extreme SE corner of the state bordering Missouri and Illinois]. They had moved further west to Glenville, Clay Co, Nebraska by 1880. Mary died in 1894 in Fairfield, Fairfield Twsp, Clay Co, Iowa and thus left Daniel widowed. Back in Lee Co, Iowa Edwin Chapin WARE died two years later in 1896 leaving his wife Mary Ada (WHITMARSH) WARE a widow with three children. Obviously Daniel and Mary Ada had known each other before he left Lee Co, Iowa for Nebraska. Her parents were also natives of Hillsborough Co, New Hampshire like Daniel was (although they were from the towns of Lyndeborough and Milford and Daniel was from Francestown). In 1899 they were now both widowed so he returned to Lee Co, Iowa and they married each other and settled in his home in Fairfield, Fairfield Twsp, Clay Co, Nebraska and had one child together: a daughter Flora Fay. Daniel himself died in Fairfield in 1916 and the now twice widowed Mary Ada returned to Lee Co, Iowa where she died in 1943. Fisher, son of Moses and Fanny Fuller Fisher, was born at Francistown, N. H., April 14, 1834. At the age of 20 he came to Denmark, la. After a year or two returning to N. H., remaining there until 1861, when he returned to Iowa bringing with him his bride, Miss Mary A. Bullen, to whom he was married Feb. 12, 1861. Mr. Fisher was truly a Nebraska pioneer, coming to Clay county (sic)in 1873, locating on a homestead 7 miles northwest of Fairfield. For the past 23 years he had lived in town. Here on August 11, 1894, his wife was called to her reward. On November 15, 1899, he was married to Ada Whitmarsh Ware, who survives him. Two children were born to the first marriage, Walter H. Fisher of Lodge Pole Nebr., and Jennie L. Osborne of Waterville, Kansas, both of whom were at their father's side when he passed away. To the second union one child was born, Flora Fay, who with the other children mourn his departure. Mr. Fisher had lived an eventful life. Giving himself to the service of his country, he enlisted in Co. I Engineer regiment of the west, afterwards transferred to 1st Mo. Engineer, serving from September 15, 1861 to October 30, 1864. He was one of the company of strong men who helped make Nebraska what it is today, enduring the hardships of pioneer life and living to see the fruit of his labors. He has been in feeble health for some time but never complaining and accepting and appreciating the tender ministrations of wife and daughter who will miss him sorely. As a boy he became a christian, uniting with the Congregational church and throughout his entire life was a constant follower of his Master. He was also an honored members of the A. F. & A. M., who conducted the burial service at the cemetery. He peacefully passed to his reward on the evening of May 30. The funeral services attended by a large company of his friends and comrades, were held at the Congregational church on Thursday, June 1st, conducted by the pastor, Rev. W.A. Alcom.
