Description	:	Obit Daniel H. Jenkins residing southwest of Ordway died on Friday of last week. He was almost 81 years of age and had been ill for more than a year. Funeral services were conducted at the San Arroyo Friends Church on Monday October 9 at 2 o'clock. Interment was made at the San Arroyo Cemetery. He and his parents went to... Read More	Obit Daniel H. Jenkins residing southwest of Ordway died on Friday of last week. He was almost 81 years of age and had been ill for more than a year. Funeral services were conducted at the San Arroyo Friends Church on Monday October 9 at 2 o'clock. Interment was made at the San Arroyo Cemetery. Mr. Jenkins was born in Herkimer County in New York state November 28, 1852 moving to Wisconsin with his parents when a lad, and later to Minnesota where he grew to manhood. He and his parents went to Kansas in 1871 and in that state on September 5, 1880 he was united in marriage to Saloma May Cross at Beloit. In September 1924 he moved with his family to Colorado and for the past 3 years resided near Ordway. Mr. Jenkins is survived by his wife, 2 sons, 2 daughters, 17 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren, 5 sisters, and 2 brothers. His Children are Roy S. of Garden City, Kansas and Leon W. of Ordway. The daughters are Mrs. Grace Odie of Cimaron, Kansas and Mrs. Edith Apple of Crowley. The sisters are Mrs Nettie J. Cross of Sugar City, Mrs Ella Reist of Beloit, Kansas, Mrs Emma A. Lee of Denver, Mrs. Mary F. Waterbury of Yakima, Washington. The brothers are Isiah F. Jenkins of Beloit, Kansas and George W. Jenkins of Charleston, Kansas. During his Illness, Mr. Jenkins sister, Nettie J. Cross was with him and a daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Odie and a brother, George Jenkins came from Kansas to the funeral. On September 5, 1930 Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and members of their family and their host of friends helped to make that a memorable event. Mr. Jenkins was a man held in high esteem by everyone who knew him; a kind a loving husband and father and will be missed by his loved ones.
