His trouble was diabetes. He was born in Washington County, Ohio, August 26, 1834. August 31, 1858, he was married to Miss Narcisus Dyke, who preceded him in death two years ago to the day. To them were born twelve children, three of whom have passed away, the other nine survive to mourn his death. The funeral was held from the home Tuesday afternoon. We had been promised a complete obituary, but for some reason it did not reach us in time. We will give it in our next issue however. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Boone County Democrat August 20, 1909 Daniel Irwin was born in Kegum, Washington County, Ohio, August 26, 1834, and died at Ogden, Iowa, July 31, 1909, aged 74 years, 11 months and 5 days. On August 31, 1858, he was united in marriage to Narcisus Dyke. To this union twelve children were born, three of whom have passed on to the Great Beyond. On July 30, 1907, he was called upon to mourn the loss of his companion and since that time has often expressed the desire that he might go and join her. The deceased was a member of Christian church at Normal, Illinois. The conversion occurred in 1862, and since that time has ever held onto the Christian faith. He has been bedfast for the past seven months, and the death angel came to claim his own on July 31, 1909. Diabetes was the cause of his death. He leaves to mourn, nine children, three boys and six girls. The names of the surviving children are as follows: Mrs. Amos Sturtzman of Ogden, Mrs. Harvey Rust of Ogden, Mrs. Mary Canfield of Tracey, Minnesota, Geo. Irwin of Hoquiam, Washington, John Irwin of Tracey, Minnesota, Mrs. Oliver Porter of Ogden, Mrs. Benjamin Rinehart of Cairo, Missouri, Mrs. Harvey Elliott of Tracey, Minnesota and Jesse Irwin of Ogden The loving hands of all the children did all that could be done to ease his sufferings but he passed beyond, where pain and sorrow no more shall come. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ aka Luke ERVING
