Description	:	Parents: Thomas Hucks 1796-1884 Margaret Squires 1798-1874 Daniel N. Hucks was a Constable during the War Between The States (1861-1865) & was responsible for sending deserters back to their units. Daniel was elected to stay home & farm for his 5 brother's (that went to war). He was shot while plowing at home during the WBTS (perhaps by a deserter he had sent back previously). He returned 2 whose last names were Hughes & Squires. The rumor spread that it was Mr. Squires, a deserter that fled to Florida after this happened. Some time later, authorities went to... Some time later, authorities went to Florida to find him for questioning. They found he'd been hanged there for killing a man in that state (Florida). Still no concrete proof who murdered him, & perhaps Yankee Scouts in the area could have been responsible. Spouse: Mary Ann Sing 1830-1914 (buried at Collins Creek Cemetery). She married a Mr. McDowell after the death of Daniel. Children: Thomas Morris Hucks 1855-1927 Socastee Mary Jane Hucks 1858-1936 Collins Creek Margaret I. Hucks 1860-1897 Collins Creek Martha Mattie Ann Hucks 1862-1954 David Mc. Hucks 1865-1947 (Died in Jacksonville, Fla).
