Description	:	The Tipton Advertiser, August 8, 1905. Obituary. Daniel S. Frederick was born in Frederick City, Maryland, Feb. 26, 1828. He came from there when nine years old to Green county, Ohio, and from thence to Drake county of same state. He was married in 1857 in Ohio and came to Iowa in 1865 to Cedar county, where he remained until his death. His wife and six children survive him--five boys and one girl, namely, Mrs. J. H. Frederick was born in Frederick City, Maryland, Feb. 26, 1828. He came from there when nine years old to Green county, Ohio, and from thence to Drake county of same state. He was married in 1857 in Ohio and came to Iowa in 1865 to Cedar county, where he remained until his death. His wife and six children survive him--five boys and one girl, namely, Mrs. J. H. Stout, Daniel E., James M., William L., Geo. W., and Frank M. All live in this immediate neighborhood excepting Geo. W. Frederick, who resides in Fayette County, Iowa. All were at the funeral but Geo. W., who could not get here on time. There are five children dead, four boys and one girl. Bro. Frederick was a member of the Presbyterian church. He had been a school teacher in earlier life, and was a carpenter by trade. He died the first day of Aug. 1905. Funeral services were conducted at the home of his son, one mile east of Cedar Bluff. The day before his death, he was on camp ground at Cedar Bluff copying his favorite hymn, "Haven of Rest," from one of the hymn books. This song was sung at his funeral by the M. E. choir, who assisted Rev. G. L. Heiserman in the service. His death was unexpected and very sudden. Walking from Cedar Bluff to his son's, a distance of one mile, he was overcome by the heat, and his heart, which had been weak, gave way suddenly.
