Bowden was born Aug. 7, 1908, in Tekamah to James and Delila Ann (McCullough) Bowden. He graduated from Tekamah High School. He worked on construction and in 1944 opened D.B.'s Body Shop which he operated until his retirement. After retiring he ran a small engine and shoe repair shop at his home. He married Eunice Robinson May 24, 1930, in Fremont. They made their home in Tekamah. The couple had celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in May of this year. Bowden was a member of the First Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge and past member of the Tekamah volunteer fire and rescue. Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers, Clifford and Donald, and one sister, Eva White. Survivors include his widow; three daughters; one son; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Rev. Victor Crawford officiated. Juli Morrow was organist and Melissa Ray was soloist. Casket bearers were Ray Lucky, Mike Hoeper, Harold Wedgewood, Chuck Huff, Frank Hoeper and Harold Williams. Honorary bearers were Tony Bouska, Kenneth Hand, Lewis Feuerbacher, Ervin Marr, Henry Doncheski, Lloyd Williamson and Howard Hovendick. Burial was in Tekamah cemetery.
