Description	:	Darlene D. Kembel, 70, of Shepherd, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2006, near Shepherd, following a long illness. Mom was born on Christmas day, 1935, in Sidney, the daughter of Harlow and Sarah Zieske. They moved to Shepherd early in her life where she attended school. She met and married Wilbur Kembel on Dec. 13, 1952, in the American Lutheran Church in Billings. Darlene's pride and joy was her family. Mom was born on Christmas day, 1935, in Sidney, the daughter of Harlow and Sarah Zieske. They moved to Shepherd early in her life where she attended school. She met and married Wilbur Kembel on Dec. 13, 1952, in the American Lutheran Church in Billings. Darlene's pride and joy was her family. She could usually be found doing things with her kids and grandkids. She sold Tupperware and decorated beautiful cakes for many years, including up to this Christmas. She owned the Gingham House, where she spent many hours visiting with customers and friends. Mom knew no strangers. She enjoyed the ponies that her and dad raised and all the people involved with them. She is preceded in death by her parents; son Tommy; granddaughter Katherin; brothers, Alden, Robert; and sisters-in-law Jackie and Virginia. She is survived by husband, Wilbur; children, Marcia (Woody) Strever, Michelle (Mike) Mattfeldt, Russ (Kim) Kembel; grandchildren, Heidi, Billy, Hillary, Ashley, Samantha; great-grandchildren, Haylee, Emalee, Dez, Jayce, Cory; brothers, Corky "Orville," LaVerne (Bonnie), Ronald (Bonnie); and sister-in-law Edna Zieske; good friend and sister at heart, Dora (Joe) Dilts; numerous nieces, nephews and many close friends. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, at the American Lutheran Church, Lewis and Division. Interment will follow in the Shepherd Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Shepherd Volunteer Fire Dept or the Billings Food Bank.
