Darlene Jane Petersen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Day, was born Jan 31, 1928 in Chicago, Ill. She moved with her parents to Wyoming when she was three years old. She was confirmed in Zion Lutheran church Wyoming. She attended the local schools and was graduated from Wyoming high school. She attended business school at Davenport and work for a time for Cherry-Burrell at Cedar Rapids. On Aug 9, 1946, she was married to John H. Petersen at the Little Brown church at Nashua. They farmed southwest of Wyoming until Feb 1961 when they moved to their new home in Wyoming. She was a member of Zion American Lutheran church, the Women of Zion, and had been a Sunday School teacher. Surviving are her husband, John H. Petersen and her two children, Stephen and Rebecca at home; one sister, Mrs. Lloyd (Doris) Fye of Cedar Rapids; and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Day. Pallbearers were Melvin Petersen, Ralph Eggert, Donald Buckholtz, Clifford Dirks, Dale Hansen, and Glenn Marshall.
