Description	:	Darrel Wayne O'Connor was born April 29, 1928 in Holyoke to Phillip and Goldie (Balderson) O'Connor. He died at the age of 82 on December 11, 2010 at Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland. Darrel attended the country school in Yuma County through the eighth grace. On October 23, 1948 he married Clara Hagemann in Holyoke. To this union three children were born: Linda, Larry and Leonard. Darrel farmed southeast of Holyoke until 1954 when the family moved in to Holyoke. He worked for several years for the Mobil oil station and later worked for the City of Holyoke street department... He worked for several years for the Mobil oil station and later worked for the City of Holyoke street department for 29 years. Darrel was a member of Holyoke First Christian Church and AARP. He enjoyed outdoor activities, especially hunting and fishing. He was an accomplished repairman. He thoroughly enjoyed his numerous travel experiences. He was always ready to tease or play a joke on someone. Darrel was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Goldie O'Connor; step-fathers Jesse Kettley and William Schuman; sister Betty Stavropolous; and grandsons Jason and Christopher O'Connor. He is survived by and will be greatly missed by his wife Clara; daughter Linda Johnson and husband Lee; sons Larry O'Connor and Leonard O'Connor and wife Peggy; grandchildren Steven and Renee O'Connor, Corrie O'Connor, Collin and Tafito O'Connor, Carolyn and Ryan Erb, Lloyd and Sheena Johnson, Timothy and Jill Johnson; and nine great grandchildren. The memorial service was held December 16 at First Christian Church in Holyoke with Pastor Lou Encinias officiating. Inurnment was held at Holyoke Cemetery. Holyoke Enterprise December 23, 2010
