Description	:	Darrell Forrest Davis, 92, the son of Elzy Jay and Elizabeth May (Kibler) Davis, was born Sept. 26, 1907, at Minneapolis, Kan. He died Friday at the Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior. When Darrell was still quite young, his family moved to Medford, Ore. There he started school. His father was killed in an accident at Medford in 1916. A second child, Thelma, was born less than six months before the accident. Read More	Darrell Forrest Davis, 92, the son of Elzy Jay and Elizabeth May (Kibler) Davis, was born Sept. 26, 1907, at Minneapolis, Kan. He died Friday at the Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior. When Darrell was still quite young, his family moved to Medford, Ore. There he started school. His father was killed in an accident at Medford in 1916. A second child, Thelma, was born less than six months before the accident. The family returned to Minneapolis, where Darrell completed his education. He came to Superior, by the Sante Fe railroad in 1923. He found employment with the Southern Nebraska Power Company at the company's sand pit and water supply pump station near the Republic River. For many years he worked with his stepfather sanding and finishing floors. He liked the mountains and did considerable hiking and camping in the western states. For years he fed wild birds and squirrels. Cats seemed to be attracted to him. He liked to travel and had been from Mexico to Maine and had made nearly 15 trips to Oregon. For several seasons he traveled with the circus after he was 80 years of age. For many years he sold post cards by mail to collectors. Many of the cards were imported. He was known by collectors across the United States. Superior was his home base and lived with his mother and stepfather, Elizabeth and Harry Bennett, when he was not in Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Harry Bennett; and his sister, Thelma Earl. Graveside services were Monday at the Evergreen Cemetery, Superior. Pastor Jon Albrecht officiated. Williams Funeral Home of Superior, was in charge of the arrangements. Superior Express, Thursday, March 30, 2000
