Celebrant during the service was Msgr. James Andraschko. Jan Klinkhammer and Mike Broderick were the musicians. Shelley DeJong was soloist and Gary DeJong was accompanist. A prayer service was held at St. Magdalen's Catholic Church on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009. Darwin Bruce Wiebesiek was born in Sioux Falls on Sept. 22, 1956 the son of Lester and Alene (Bunger) Wiebesiek. He grew up on a farm near Davis, attended District 423 Middleton School and Chancellor Grade School. He graduated from Lennox High School in 1974. On June 11, 1977 Darwin was united in marriage to Susan Wetering at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Tea by Msgr. James Andraschko. They farmed in the Davis area and farmed their present farm northeast of Davis until April of 2009 when they moved to Tea. Darwin was a member of St. Magdalen's Catholic Church and currently was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. He enjoyed ice fishing, riding motorcycle, playing poker and spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Lester, on May 25, 2001. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Susan; three sons: Josh Wiebesiek and his special friend Jenilee Eitreim, Adam Wiebesiek and Tom Wiebesiek and his special friend Christine Howard all of Davis, one daughter, Abbey Vanderwerf and her husband Josh of Tea along with their expected daughter due in January, his mother, Alene Wiebesiek Of Davis; siblings: L. Wiebesiek of Mankato, MN and Harlan Wiebesiek and his wife, Fae, of Davis; plus nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
