Description	:	David Allen Garner, 67, of Chico CA passed away on August 19th at Enloe Hospital. Viewing will be 9:30-10:30am, Friday August 27th at Newton-Bracewell Funeral Home. David was born at Enloe Hospital to Jay and Dorothy Garner on March 14, 1954. He went to school at Shasta Union Elementary, Bidwell Junior High and Chico High School. After high school he attended LeTourneau College, the only time he didn't live in his hometown of Chico. After returning home from college, he meet his one true love, and married Vicki McKinney on December 17, 1977, at Evangelical Free Church. David and Vicki started MGM Trucking in 1979. For over 50 years David trucked, from gravel and heavy equipment hauling to livestock and ag, he could do it all! Trucking was a lifelong passion, that he proudly passed onto all his family. As a teenager he was a track star, the one sport he was allowed to play that didn't conflict with his commitments to the family farm and church. As he raised his family, they enjoyed summers waterskiing on the lake, and winters on the mountain snow skiing. That's when they weren't at Cycleland racing motocross or traveling for soccer. David proudly coached soccer for many years. David was a private pilot, and member of the Butte Flying Club for over 20 years. He and Vicki loved to ride their Harley's. A passion for riding, lead them to lifelong friendships. Whether they were going on Iron Butt rides or enjoying their weekly Weasel Wednesdays. It was as much about the riding as it was about spending time with the people he loved. David was selfless, and hard working. He didn't know a stranger. He knew more jokes than humanly possible. He always wanted to help people learn and do better. He was an adventurer. He was a Niner fan. He was an Elk member. He had little patience for stupidity and wasn't afraid to tell you what he thought. He loved life on the ranch. He was a proud conservative, and Trumper. He loved his Country, his God, his family, his friends. David loved being a grandpa, and everyone knew it, because he loved to brag about them. He always made all the grandkids and their interests a priority, the man rarely missed a game – and there were a lot! David is preceded in death by his father and mother, as well as his sister, Linda Titus and brother Robert (Bob) Garner. David is survived by his wife, Vicki, his children, Kyle (Chelsey) Garner, and Sara (Josh) Jewett. And 4 grandchildren, Kyler & Lane Garner, and Haylie & Raegan Jewett. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Alden. And his beloved 4-legged "daughter" Dixie. Pallbearers: Kyle Garner, Josh Jewett, Thomas Clark, Brad Wood, Kyler Garner, Lane Garner, Haylie Jewett, and Raegan Jewett. Memorials may be sent to Newton-Bracewell. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the nurses for their care and all of David's family and friends for their outpouring of love and support. In addition to Friday's ceremony we ask all family and friends to join us on Sunday August 29th at 1pm at Chico Elks Lodge for a Celebration of Life for David.
