Description	:	son of John and Mary Lou (Evers) Hippen David Allen Hippen, age 45, of Aplington, Iowa, was born the son of John and Mary Lou (Evers) Hippen on June 23, 1968, Waterloo, Iowa. Read More	son of John and Mary Lou (Evers) Hippen David Allen Hippen, age 45, of Aplington, Iowa, was born the son of John and Mary Lou (Evers) Hippen on June 23, 1968, Waterloo, Iowa. He received his education and graduated from the Aplington High School in 1986. He also received an Associate's Degree in Business from Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, Iowa. On August 20, 1988, Dave was united in marriage with Stacy Winterburg at the First Reformed Church in Aplington. The couple made their home in Aplington. To this union they were blessed with a daughter, Mackenzie Jane who was the light of Dave's life and he enjoyed spending all the time he could with her. The couple was later divorced. Through the years Dave worked long hard hours at each job he worked. Dave owned and operated Hippen Appliance Store in Aplington for several years; he worked at Leath Furniture in Cedar Falls; and then at Jerry's Furniture in Waterloo, until 2010, when he suffered a head injury, after falling down a flight of stairs. That did not stop Dave from enjoying life. Although his life was changed, he still loved everyone around him and enjoyed every minute living life to the fullest. He continued to make people laugh until the end. Dave's love for his family and his desire to enjoy life made him a very busy guy. He loved his friends deeply and spent time with them as often as he could. He also enjoyed watching sports especially the Chicago Cubs and Minnesota Twins baseball and his beloved Minnesota Vikings. Dave also loved to golf and was very good at it. Other favorite pastimes were singing karaoke and he also loved to dance. Dave passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa, from natural causes. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Grace Evers and his paternal grandparents, John and Irene Hippen. Dave is survived by his daughter, Mackenzie Hippen of Parkersburg; his parents, John and Mary Lou Hippen of Aplington; one brother, Tim (Christine) Hippen of Aplington; two nieces, Ashly (Nick) Bell and Macy Hippen all of Parkersburg; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. We all love you Dave and you will forever be in our hearts. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Bethel Reformed Church with burial in the Pleasant View Cemetery both rural Aplington. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, at the Redman-Schwartz Home in Parkersburg, (319) 346-1534, and one hour before services at the church.
