Montgomery of Oak, and a brother-in-law of Hon. S. A. Searle, was murdered in the Philippines last Friday. He was Supt. of Schools in a portion of the islands and was traveling between two towns, carrying with him a large sum of money, when he was attacked by several natives, killed, robbed, and his body mutilated. Every effort is being made to capture the fiends who committed the murder, and, if captured, they will get a portion of what they deserve.
