Description	:	David D. Libey, son of William and Elizabeth Libey, was born in Richland county, Ohio, November 22, 1840; died at his home in Wakarusa, Indiana, February 24, 1915, aged 74 years, 3 months and 2 days. In 1852, when but a boy, he with his parents came to DeKalb county, Indiana. Nine years later, in 1861, he was united in marriage to Mary A. Gushwa; to them were born five children, 3 sons and 2 daughters. Libey, son of William and Elizabeth Libey, was born in Richland county, Ohio, November 22, 1840; died at his home in Wakarusa, Indiana, February 24, 1915, aged 74 years, 3 months and 2 days. In 1852, when but a boy, he with his parents came to DeKalb county, Indiana. Nine years later, in 1861, he was united in marriage to Mary A. Gushwa; to them were born five children, 3 sons and 2 daughters. During those days following the election of Abraham Lincoln to the presidency of the United States, when his country was about to be torn in two, he heard the call for volunteers and enlisted in Company B 29th Regiment and served for three years. Later in his life he heard another call, not for three years but for life, and again volunteered his services, and with his wife, on the 21st day of May, 1893, united with the Mennonite Brethren in Christ church, where he retained his membership until death. During his christian life he was always faithful and a ready helper. During his affliction he expressed great confidence in God. On January 3, 1911, he was stricken with paralysis, from which he never recovered and much of the last four years he spent in a wheel chair. He is survived by his faithful wife, who stood by him so nobly all through his sickness; three sons, Roy and Sylvester of Wakarusa, Ezra of Lakeville; two daughters, Mrs. James Miltenberger and Mrs. Wm. Wills, both of Battle Creek, Mich.; one brother, Jacob Libey, Benningham, Kansas; three sisters, Mrs. Daniel Gonsor, Oklahoma; Mrs. M. V. Lease and Mrs. A. Zooker, Hudson, Ind.; thirteen grand children; three great grand children and a host of friends. Funeral was held at M. B. C. church on Friday 10 a.m. Burial at Olive. Services conducted by A. B.
