David married the love of his life, Doris (Gdowski) Lesiak on September 21, 1996. Read More	David E. “Dave” Bride, 82, died January 2, 2021, at his home in Lincoln, NE surrounded by his family. David was born in 1938 to Joseph and Helen (Schneider) Bride in Yankton, SD. David married the love of his life, Doris (Gdowski) Lesiak on September 21, 1996. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Fullerton, NE Catholic Cemetery. David served his country in the Army National Guard for six years. He graduated from Southern State College in Springfield, SD, with a degree in education. He earned his master’s degree from University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD. After a lengthy career in education, he retired as a teacher and principal and began his career with World Book Encyclopedia, Inc. He was a highly successful salesman. Among his many accomplishments, David was inducted into the Southern State College Football Hall of Fame and was All-State, All-Conference in high school. Known for his quick wit, welcoming demeanor, and famous sense of humor, David loved people, and treasured life. He and his wife enjoyed playing golf and simply being together, living their fabulous love story. David was preceded in death by his infant children, Christopher and Tony; parents; sister, Pat Kreber, brother-in-law Jim Kreber, brother, Larry Bride, sister Kathy Bride-Grooms. Survivors include his wife, Doris; daughter, Carol (Matthew) Wendt; son, Kevin (Janet) Bride; step-children Greg (Cassandra) Lesiak, Gina (Jon) Blaser, Jill (John) Punteney; grandchildren Tony, Christopher and Mattisyn Wendt; Isabella, Dominic and Jackson Lesiak; Jessica, Connor and Colton Blaser; Dalton, Hunter, Alexis and Cooper Punteney; brother Joe Bride, sisters-in-law Jeanne Bride and Rochelle Bride, and many nieces and nephews. Memorials are suggested to the family and can be mailed to the funeral home at 4040 A Street, Lincoln, NE 68510.
