Mr.Paige had been in ill health for many months but was up and about till the two weeks before his death, when he became confined to his bed. All that could be done for him was done, but to no avail and he answered the final call and left family and friends to mourn his passing. Mr. Paige was but a few years past the middle span of life, and should have had many years of life to live, but He who is Master of us all, called him to Himself and his dear ones must bear the burden of grief, which all must experience at some time in their lives. Funeral service were held Monday afternoon at 1:30 from the home and at 2:30 from the Methodist church, Rev.. Fred Rawlinson, having charge of the services and preaching a very and comforting sermon. A choir composed of Mesdames A. B. Chubbuck and Joe Coutour and Messrs H. H. Campbell and B.R. Stevens, with Mrs. R. E. Sehnert accompanying, sang the hymns; ;Jesus Savior Pilot Me;" "Saved by Grace" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." Many were present to pay tribute to a passing friend. A number of beautiful floral offerings gave silent tribute of friendship and love. The Pall Bearers were: Jon Manger, Wesley Gibson, Frank Parks, Ray Herren, Dan Eble and P. S. Chapman. Interment was made in the Presho cemetery. David Enoch Paige was born at Garrison, Benton county, Iowa, July 19, 1871. He passed away in Lyman county, near Presho September 16, 1931, at the age of 60 years, one month and 27 days. He was one of a family of nine children, three girls and six boys. Besides his father and mother, two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death. On March 7, 1900 he was married to Miss Della Moyer. To this union six children were born, all of whom are living. Mr. Paige had followed the farming profession since early manhood, living first at Garrison, Iowa, later moving to Clark county, S. Dak., and finally coming to Lyman county, where the family have made their home for 22 years. For many years, Mr. Paige served on the township board and also on the school board, giving these up only when forced to do so by recent illness. He was a kind and devoted husband and father and a friendly neighbor, every ready to help others. Besides his widow, he is survived by the children: Leola, now Mrs. Louis Moore of Lyman; Edna, Gerald, Milford, Harold, Donald at home. One little grandson, Raymond Moore, one sister, Mrs. Lucy Coombs of Bakersfield, California, three brothers, Oliver of Textile, Texas; Ira of Los Angeles, Calif., and John of Des Moines, Iowa, besides a host of others relatives and friends. The sympathy of neighbors and friends are extended to the sorrowing family in their hour of bereavement.
