Child of Brunswick died Jan. 2, 2014 at Parkview Hospital in Brunswick. He was born in Concordia, Kansas on Nov. 21, 1933, son of Cecil and Della Child. He graduated from Concordia High School in 1951. He made a career in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1978 and achieved the rank of Master Chief Photographer. In 1955 he married Mary Ann Dunton from Greene, Maine. Together they raised six children. As a family, they were stationed throughout the United States and retired to Maine. David was very active in the Maine State Golf Association and had a golf club repair business in his home. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Child of Brunswick; two brothers, Gene Child of Golden, Colo., and Paul Child of Sarasota, Fla.; six children and their families, Robert D. of Lewiston, Eileen and Darryl Parker of Weld, Stuart D. of Brunswick, Dale B. of Brunswick, Rachel and Joel Goodness of Windham, and Kevin N. and Doreen Child of Greene; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
