Description	:	David Jerome Moyer suffered a heart attack and passed away on May 15, at his farm home near Percival. He was 85 years, one month and 18 days. He was born March 27, 1859 at Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. He came to Iowa with his parents when he was 6 weeks old, settling near Boone. His father passed away when he was five years old. Read More	David Jerome Moyer suffered a heart attack and passed away on May 15, at his farm home near Percival. He was 85 years, one month and 18 days. He was born March 27, 1859 at Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. He came to Iowa with his parents when he was 6 weeks old, settling near Boone. His father passed away when he was five years old. On December 21, 1880, he was united in marriage with Etta Viola Dalton at Villisca. In 1898 they moved to near Gretna, Nebraska, then back to Iowa in 1918 where they purchased the farm on which he lived until his sudden death. He was a farmer all of his life with the exception of a few years as a railroad switchman. He, with his faithful wife, united with the Advent Christian Church and remained true Christians and good neighbors. They celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary last December and enjoyed having his family and friends with him. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Susan Barrett; a son, Lyman Moyer of Sunnyside, Washington; Clifford of Glenwood; Charles, Reuben, Richard and Mrs. Cora Ray of Percival; one sister, Miss Cora Moyer of Villisca; 42 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, including five sets of twins. He has seven grandchildren in the Service. One son preceded him in death. Funeral rites were held at Porter Funeral Home in Nebraska City May 19 and burial in Wyuka Cemetery. Rev. J.D. Handle, Baptist minister was in charge. Casket bearers were Lawrence Snyder**, Quentin Parkison, Ezra King, John Dignan, John Cullin and Raymond Snyder. Out of town relatives attending were Mrs. Emily Mains, Miss Ina Dalton, Mr. and Mrs. Wm Karas and children, Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. C. Moyer and children; Mrs. Grace Holme, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Haynie, Glenwood; Roland Moore of Pacific Junction; Mr. and Mrs. Lee Newman, Red Oak; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Cockran, Mrs. Raymond Mains, Shenandoah; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bates and daughter, Nehawka, Nebraska; Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Gardner, Hamburg; Lyman Moyer, Mrs. W. B. Barrett, Sunnyside, Washington; Sgt. Raymond Moyer, California; and Pvt. and Mrs. Vernon Brown of Washington. From unknown newspaper.
