Description	:	Source – Edna Barrett Mother Susan loved to dance and taught us to waltz on the living room rug. She was musical and had a lovely singing voice. She played the accordian given to her by Uncle Clifford and we sang together. She was a real farmer's wife, milked, stacked and shacked hay, cut asparagus, rode horseback and drove horses on wagons or sleigh, but never learned to drive our old Ford. Obituary Mrs. Susan Barrett, age 80, a resident of rural Sunnyside for the past 45 years, passed away Sunday August 5th, at the Sunnyside Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Barrett came to Ellensburg, from Tennessee, in 1915 with her husband, W.B. Barrett. The family moved to Sunnyside in 1917, to a farm south of the city, where Mrs. Barrett continued to live after the death of her husband in 1960. Survivors inclaude a son, Wiley B., Granger; five daughters, Mrs. Dave Daniels, Tacoma; Mrs. Lewis Greek, NezPierce, Idaho; Mrs. Austin Platt of Grandview; Mrs. Ethyl Cox, Lewiston; and Mrs. Robert Ledgerwood, Mabton; 18 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. Abrother, Lyman Moyer, Sunnyside and one sister, Cora in Omaha, Nebraska also survive. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 8th, at 11:00 am, in the Chapel of Walter C. Ball and Son Funeral Home, Sunnyside. The Rev. David Mann, of Granger, will officiate and burial will be in the Sunnyside Cemetery.
