He was born July 27, 1873, at Forest, Ill., the son of Joseph and Margaret Hennessey. At the age of 14 he moved to the vicinity of Agnew with his parents. He lived there until 1938 when he moved to Lincoln. He was a member of St. Mary's cathedral. Surviving are his wife Kathryn; sons, Don P, Joseph and Vincent, all of Lincoln; brothers, John of Raymond and Thomas in Wyoming, sister, Mrs. Sarah Mara of Havelock. The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's cathedral, Msgr. C.J. Riordan officiating. Burial will be at Agnew. The rosary will be recited at 8:15 p.m. Thursday at Roberts. Note: About the discrepencey in date of death - paper dated July 1st said he died Wednesday & funeral is Thursday; a June 30th date of death - Explanation was found in Lincoln Evening Journal: David Hennessey was found dead in a ditch on Raymond Road on Wed., June 30th. Sheriff determined he had died of natural causes and investigation further determined that he died on the last Thursday (June 24th).
