OBITUARY-THE HALSTEAD INDEPENDENT APRIL 30, 1897 (FRIDAY) DEATH OF DAVID MOSER A telegram was received in Halstead Sunday evening anouncing the death of David Moser at Peoria, Ill., and that the remains would be brought here for burial in the city cemetery, Tuesday. The funeral services were to be in charge of the Halstead Camp, Modern Woodmen and upon the arrival of the morning train, a delegation from the Camp met the remains and the sorrowing relatives. The services were held from the Camp room and were attended by a large number of friends. The interment took place in the city cemetery where the beautiful ritualistic ceremony of the Modern Woodmen was carried out. David Moser died April 25, 1897, on his fifty-seventh birthday, at Peoria, Ill., where he had been making his home for the past two years. he sold his farm four miles west of Halstead to Mr. J. R. Frizzell about four years ago, and moved to Montpelier, Ind., where he resided unitl moving to Peoria. During the seven years he was a resident of Harvey county he made many warm friendships. he was a good neighbor and an honorable citizen and his death is greatly regreated by all who knew him. He was twice married, the results of the first union being seven children, five of whom are now living. They are Mrs. H. A. Schultz of Wadsworth, Ohio, Mrs. Tillie Spease of Montpelier, Indiana, Mrs. Mattie Wilmot of Lima, Ohio and Frank C. and Charles Moser of Peoria. Their former friends in this vicinity extend their heartfelt sympathy in this their great hour of trail. Mr. Moser had been a member of the Halstead Camp, Modern Woodmen for the past ten years and carried an insurance policy to the amount of one thousand dollars, payable to the widow and children. The bereaved widow and son Frank accompanied the remains from Peoria to Halstead where every attendtion was paid them by friends. They returned to their home at Peoria, Wednesday evening.
