Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2013 at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street with burial following at Norwalk Cemetery. A visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 28 at the funeral home. David* was born March 19, 1959 in Manchester, IA to Arnold and Wilma (Brickman) Rueber. *Dave* was raised on the family farm in Arlington, IA, raising Angus with his family. David* was born March 19, 1959 in Manchester, IA to Arnold and Wilma (Brickman) Rueber. *Dave* was raised on the family farm in Arlington, IA, raising Angus with his family. He was an active member of 4H, FFA and the Junior Association of the Northeast Iowa Angus Breeders Association. *Dave* graduated from Starmount High School in 1977 and Wartburg College in 1981, where he was on the cheerleading squad. On July 3, 1999, *Dave* was united in marriage to Shari Thompson at Faith Lutheran Church in Clive, IA. Together they were blessed with a son, Jacob Dean. *Dave* had a lifelong career as a Network Engineer, recently employed at Direct Communications, Incorporated. *Dave* enjoyed spending time with his family, especially fishing and playing basketball and soccer with his son, Jacob. He also enjoyed volleyball, playing cards with the guys and singing in the band! *Dave* was also a very creative cook and never knew a stranger...he could talk to anyone! Those left to cherish his memory include wife, Shari; son, Jacob; mother, Wilma Rueber of Strawberry Point; mother-in-law, Donna Thompson of Paton; father-in-law, Cliff Thompson of Boone; brother, Darwin Rueber of Sarasota, FL; sister, Lois Cordes of Strawberry Point; sister, Jan Van Wyngarden (Tom) of Austin, TX; brother, Douglas Rueber (Marcia) of Arlington and sister, Karen Dahlberg (Doug) of Los Fresnos, TA. *Dave* was preceded in death by his father, Arnold Reuber and brothers-in-law, Norman Cordes and Dean Thompson.
