Description	:	From the Skidmore New Era, 29 August, 1907 "David Strickler David Strickler was born in Adams county, Illinois, October 15, 1837, and died at his home in Skidmore, Missouri, August 21, 1907, aged 69 years 10 months and 6 days. He was married to Susan Ross forty-seven years ago. To this union four children were born, Edgar R., Cora L., Frank W., and Clarence Ray, all of whom are living except Frank W., who died February 27, 1903. Read More	From the Skidmore New Era, 29 August, 1907 "David Strickler David Strickler was born in Adams county, Illinois, October 15, 1837, and died at his home in Skidmore, Missouri, August 21, 1907, aged 69 years 10 months and 6 days. He was married to Susan Ross forty-seven years ago. To this union four children were born, Edgar R., Cora L., Frank W., and Clarence Ray, all of whom are living except Frank W., who died February 27, 1903. He also leaves two brothers, three sisters and seven grandchildren. He lived in the county in which he was born until the spring of 1885 when he, with his family, moved to a farm near Maryville where he lived until the spring of 1896 when he retired from the farm life and located in Maryville. He resided there until the fall of 1903 when he came to Skidmore where he resided until death. Mr. Strickler was a man of sterling worth and integrity. He was held in universal esteem by all who knew him. A good citizen, a loving husband and kind father. His suffering was borne with patience and great fortitude. He manifested to his friends his readiness and willingness to depart and be at rest. A large number of friends were present at the funeral services which were held at the home Saturday, August 24, by Rev. R. Barrett. After the service the body was laid away in the family lot in the Masonic cemetery. - Reuben Barrett"
