Read More	David Vester Blanton Birth: Apr. 22, 1925 Gaffney Cherokee County South Carolina, USA OBITUARY - Published in The Gaffney Ledger (Gaffney, SC) on Monday, April 14, 2014 DAVID BLANTON ~ David Vester Blanton, 88, of 127 Valarie Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Magnolias of Gaffney. ~ Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Wilma Sue Hill Blanton and son of the late Lewis Blanton and Eunice Martin Blanton. ~ He was a United States Air Force veteran and retired from construction. Mr. Blanton was a member of East Gaffney Baptist Church. ~ In addition to his wife, surviving are a son, Greg Van Blanton and wife, Brenda, of Shelby; a daughter, Valarie Sue Blanton Huskey of Boiling Springs; a brother, Johnny Benson Blanton of Gaffney; three grandchildren, Chandler Seth Huskey, Jeffery Todd Blanton and John David Blanton; four great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Elmeree Blanton. ~ He was preceded in death by a brother, Woodrow Blanton; and a sister, Beatrice Allison. ~ The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sally Phillips and Magnolia Memory Care Unit Staff for their love and compassionate care. ~ Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens. ~ In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Gaffney Baptist Church, 2308 Cherokee Avenue, Gaffney, SC 29340; or to Parson's Pantry, P.O.
