Description	:	David W. Orr, 69, died at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at his residence. He had an extended battle with cancer. Born Feb. 28, 1937, in Lafayette, to Alvin Wayne Orr and Laura Agnes McDaniel Orr, he was a farmer until retiring in 2005. He also was the former manager of the Central States Grain Elevator in Swanington and had been a grain merchandiser for Demeter LP in Fowler. Born Feb. 28, 1937, in Lafayette, to Alvin Wayne Orr and Laura Agnes McDaniel Orr, he was a farmer until retiring in 2005. He also was the former manager of the Central States Grain Elevator in Swanington and had been a grain merchandiser for Demeter LP in Fowler. Mr. Orr was a past president of the Purdue Council in Agricultural Research Extension and Teaching. He also was a member and past president of the Benton County Fair Board and was a 4-H dog care and training leader for 30 years. He served in the Army National Guard, Boswell Unit, from 1961 to 1965, and was a pilot for many years and a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association. He recently completed building a Vans RV8A aircraft. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Francesville. He enjoyed flying, training dogs, playing golf and fishing. His first marriage was to Donna Goodwine on Sept. 7, 1958, in Tab. She died July 7, 1998. On March 24, 2001, he married Nona L. Musall Malchow in Gatlinburg, Tenn. and she survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Debra Kay Lane (husband: Joe) and Diana Lynn Schroeder (husband: Andy), two stepsons, Robert E. Malchow and Rodney L. Malchow (wife: Karen), two stepdaughters, Nona D. Hollenbaugh and Gina S. Leman (husband: Derek), a brother, Frank Orr, 22 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Loretta Glover. Published Journal & Courier, Lafayette, IN
