Read More	From The Greeley Citizen, February 14, 1935, page 1, transcribed by Linda Berney: A Pioneer of County Dies - End Comes to David Vanosdall After Long Illness - David William Vanosdall passed away at the home of his son, Clifford, Saturday morning. Cancer was the cause of his death. He had taken treatment at a hospital in Hastings and Savannah, Mo., but doctors were unable to help him. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Methodist church, Rev. J. C. Sawyer officiated. Burial was in the Methodist cemetery. The pallbearers were Jack Davitt, Charles Smith, Jake Hittner, James McManus, William Salte and Cy Morrow. Mr. Vanosdall was born September 24, 1862 at Vermillion, Ill. When he was twenty years old he moved to Nebraska and settled in Polk county. A year later he moved to Greeley county. Mr. Vanosdall was married twice. He was married to Miss Jessie Howe in June 1891. She died a few years after the marriage. In 1901 he married Miss Barbara Long. She passed away April 20, 1910. Surviving Mr. Vanosdall are one sister, Mrs. E. A. Cary of Wallace, Neb., three daughters, Mrs. Olive Horan of North Platte, Mrs. Harold Dower and Mrs. M. w. Parker of Wallace. Two sons, Clifford of Greeley and Theil of Scotia also survive. Mr. Vanosdall had many friends here who mourn his loss.
