Thompson Stillman K. Thompson . OBITUARY - Dea. Frederick A. Thompson "Died in Poultney, March 22d, 1878, Deacon Frederick A. Thompson, in the 76th year of his age. "David Thompson came to Poultney from Goshen, CT., in an early day with his two sons, Amos and Jesse, and several daughters, one of whom married Timothy Crittenden; one Elder Clark Kendrick; one Ezekiel Buel; one Elisha Ashley ; one David Hurlburt, and one died unmarried. "Jesse, the father of the deceased, married Huldah Richards. They had seven children, of whom Frederick A. was the eldest, born Oct. 13th 1802. He married Eunice Horr, Oct. 18th 1827, united with the Baptist church Dec. 6th, 1829, and was elected one of its Deacons Jan. 6th 1855. He has left two sons: Lorriston E., a merchant of this village, and Stillman K., a dentist in Greeley, Colorado, both active members of churches where they reside. "Dea. Thompson lived in pleasant harmony with his family for more than half a century, no death occurring therein until he was finally taken like a shock of corn fully ripe in his season. "A good man has left us. He will be missed, not only in the family and neighborhood, but especially in the church and social meetings. His attendance upon all their appointments and ordinances was uniform and punctual; his admonitions and exhortations to the impenitent were characterized by kindness and a deep solicitude for their welfare; he was in deep sympathy with the interest and prosperity of the church in Christ. He loved the Word of God, his service, his house, his people . . . "Appropriate funeral services were had Sunday afternoon, the 24th, at which Rev. J. A. Pierce officiated, assisted by Rev.
