She d. of record Sept. 24, 1771 at Windham, Æ 30. They had four children recorded at Windham: Erastus, Ephraim, Ethelbert, and a son who d. one day old. On Sept. 27, 1774 of record at Windham, Conn., Samuel m. 2) Chloe Silsby, dau. of John Silsby and Hannah Carpenter, b. of record Aug. 11, 1748 at Windham, Conn. She d. of record Sept. 29, 1788 at Windham. Chloe has no known gravestone, but is assumed to have been interred at the "old" Scotland Cemetery at present-day Scotland, Conn. They had five children of record at Windham Conn.: Samuel 3rd (who d. unmarried before his father), Adonijah, Septimius, Lydia, Levi, and Chloe. On Dec. 23, 1794 of record at Windham, Conn., Samuel m, 3) Sarah Farnum, whose parentage has not been found. There were no children of this marriage with Sarah surviving her husband. When and where she died is not of known record. Dea. Samuel Baker, Jr. wrote his will on Apr. 6, 1812, in which he bequeathed to his wife Sarah 1/3 of his real estate and person property and 1/2 of the household furniture. The estate was judged insolvent resulting in a protracted probate with the widow Sarah choosing to take her portion in the form of her right of dower during her natural life. To sons Erastus, Ephraim and Ethelbert (by first wife Lydia Smith) and son Adonijah (by second wife Chloe Silsby) he gave $2. To son Septimius he gave three shares and to son Levi two shares of the remainder of the estate, to dau. Lydia $200 and 1/6 part of his dwelling house, with the remaining 1/2 of the household furniture to be equally divided between sons Septimius and Levi and daus. Lydia and Chloe (latter the children of 2nd wife Chloe Silsby) with Septimius and Levi bequeathed his wearing clothes. He named his wife Sarah and son Septimius executors of the will, with son Septimius later becoming sole executor. The widow's thirds in real estate and personal property were set-out to the widow Sarah Sept. 6, 1813. A summary of the children will be added later. 6/5/2016
