Dean, son of Edward and Helena (Olesen) Schack, was born February 27, 1930 in St. Edward, Nebraska. Dean attended St. Edward Public Schools graduating from High School there in 1947. Dean, son of Edward and Helena (Olesen) Schack, was born February 27, 1930 in St. Edward, Nebraska. Dean attended St. Edward Public Schools graduating from High School there in 1947. He entered the United States Army on October 25, 1951. On November 18, 1952 Dean was united in marriage to Dolores Mannlein at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Albion, Nebraska. On October 24, 1953, he was honorably discharged from the Army. Dean and Dolores then lived in St. Edward where he farmed and was also employed as District Sales Manager for Moorman's Feed. He retired in 1990. Dean was a member of the St. Edward Catholic Church; the American Legion Post #226, serving as Commander; Knights of Columbus Council #7825, holding the office of Grand Knight; and the St. Edward City Council. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, reading, hunting, and golfing. Dean is survived by: wife, Dolores Schack of St. Edward, children: Dennis and wife Cathy of St. Edward; Richard and wife Jayne of Albion; Joan Smith and husband Dan of Neligh; Daniel and wife Shelly of Lincoln; 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Dean was preceded in death by: parents and sisters, Ilene Mohr and Janet Thompson. Interment was in the St. Edward Catholic Cemetery, St. Edward, NE. with Military Rites conducted by the American Legion Crosier Post #226 of St. Edward, NE.
