Description	:	Dean M. Votaw, age 83, of Leetonia, died at 12:18 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 2015, at the Hospice House in Poland. He was born January 28, 1932 in Salem, son of the late Clarence M. and Lucille (King) Votaw. Dean had been employed as an enameller for 30 years at Eljers Company in Salem and retired in 1987, then worked at ACE Hardware in Columbiana for 3 years before working at the Columbiana County Dog Pound for 12 years. Votaw, age 83, of Leetonia, died at 12:18 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 2015, at the Hospice House in Poland. He was born January 28, 1932 in Salem, son of the late Clarence M. and Lucille (King) Votaw. Dean had been employed as an enameller for 30 years at Eljers Company in Salem and retired in 1987, then worked at ACE Hardware in Columbiana for 3 years before working at the Columbiana County Dog Pound for 12 years. He was a 1950 Salem High School graduate, a member and past master of the Leetonia Masonic Lodge #401 F.&A.M. and a member of the York Rite Bodies. Dean was a former volunteer fireman for Leetonia Fire Department. His wife, Darlene (Miller) Votaw, whom he married December 13, 1951, preceded him in death July 8, 2014. A daughter, Denean Votaw; a brother, Dwain Votaw; and three sisters, Alfreda Zimmerman, Dorothy Coffee and Ruth Zimmerman also preceded him in death. Survivors include two sons, Daniel (Michele) Votaw of Leetonia and Douglas Votaw of Orlando, Florida; a brother, C. L. “Shorty” (Martie) Votaw of Greenford; four sisters, Leta Faye Wright of Mansfield, Ila (Jack) Meier of Salem, Audrey (Jack) Firth of Salem and Karen (Roger) Zeigler of Salem; and three grandchildren, Jessica (Joseph Houston) Votaw of Ft.
