Description	:	Dean R. Manchester, 76, of rural Douds, died at 4:22 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at Jefferson County Hospital, Fairfield, as the result of a stroke. He was born July 10, 1932, at Loup City, Neb., to Orrin and Emma Blauhorn Manchester. He married Geraldine Billingsley Feb. 9, 1992, in Ottumwa. Dean graduated from Fairfield High School in 1949 and lived most of his life in Jefferson and Van Buren counties. He was born July 10, 1932, at Loup City, Neb., to Orrin and Emma Blauhorn Manchester. He married Geraldine Billingsley Feb. 9, 1992, in Ottumwa. Dean graduated from Fairfield High School in 1949 and lived most of his life in Jefferson and Van Buren counties. He was a lifelong farmer and was an auto salesman for a series of dealerships, retiring from Fesler Auto Mall, Fairfield, in 2006. He had also been Terminal Manager for Watson Bros. Trucking Co. in Fairfield and Cheyenne, Wyo. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Linda Bradfield (Jerry) of Memphis, Mo., and Kelley Gray (James) of Fairfield; a son, William Manchester (Brenda) or rural Douds; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Millie Creek of Fairfield; a brother, Dale Manchester (Darlene) of Bella Vista, Ariz.; a niece; a nephew; other relatives and many friends and business associates. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert Manchester and a brother, Harold Manchester. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, Pastor Keevin Koch officiating. Published in the Ottumwa Daily Courier on 1/5/2009
