He lived on a farm near Gilman and in 1935 he moved with his family to a farm south of Malcom where he lived for the next eighty years. He was married to Viola Jean Leyden on January 6, 1946. He moved to Windsor Manor in Grinnell in November 2015. Deane was very proud of his children, grand children and great-grandchildren. He was very supportive of all of them & enjoyed attending their sporting events through the years. He also enjoyed his weekly Saturday morning coffee with his friends. He was a friendly person with a kind personality.
