He was born on March 29, 1943 in Syracuse, Kan. the son of Emery T. Potter and Pauline (Hoff) Potter. Dee began his life in Syracuse growing up on the farm and attended Syracuse High School, graduating in 1961. Read More	Dee Duane Potter passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the age of 71, at the Kansas Heart Hospital, in Wichita, Kan. He was born on March 29, 1943 in Syracuse, Kan. the son of Emery T. Potter and Pauline (Hoff) Potter. Dee began his life in Syracuse growing up on the farm and attended Syracuse High School, graduating in 1961. Shortly after graduation, he began his military service in the United States Army National Guard, and completed his military service in 1970. On Feb. 2, 1969, he married Marion Lavon Baldwin in Liberal, Kan. and made their home on the farm south of Syracuse. To this union the one son Randal was born. Dee worked at what he loved the most of and that was being a farmer. He retired in 2008, and he and Marion moved into Syracuse. Dee and Marion enjoyed their time together after retiring where they spent their winters visiting and living in Casa Grande, Ariz. Dee enjoyed the time away from Syracuse, but always enjoyed coming home to where his roots were, and resided there until his untimely passing. Dee was a member of the Syracuse Southern Baptist Church, and the Gideons. He enjoyed working with stain glass, wood working, bowling, he enjoyed serving others in any possible way, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emery and Pauline Potter; and one brother-inl-law, Dick Holdren. He is survived by his spouse, Marion Lavon (Baldwin) Potter of Syracuse; one son, Randal (& wife Mayumi) Potter of Toyonaka, Japan; one brother, Roger (& wife Kay) Potter of Tribune, Kan.; one sister, Beverely Holdren of Manhattan, Kan.; two granddaughters, Elina Grace & Lisa Clara Potter both of Toyonaka, Japan; and numerous family members and friends Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 10:00 AM (MDT) at the Southern Baptist Church in Syracuse. Burial will follow in the Syracuse Cemetery in Syracuse. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM (MDT) at Fellers Funeral Home LLC, Syracuse.
