She lived in Preston until the family moved in 1930 to the Hamilton County area. She attended Mound Country School. On Oct. 13, 1934, she married Emery T. Potter in Garden City. She was born March 30, 1916, in Preston, to H.R.S. and Minnie Allen Hoff. She lived in Preston until the family moved in 1930 to the Hamilton County area. She attended Mound Country School. On Oct. 13, 1934, she married Emery T. Potter in Garden City. He preceded her in death as did her parents; two brothers, Henry Herman Hoff and Louis Stewart Hoff; and three sisters, Juva Blanch Levens, Mary Eva Levens and Anna Belle Levens. Mrs. Potter was a member of Southern Baptist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Economic Homemakers Unit and the church's ladies organization and was a 4-H project leader teaching sewing, crocheting and cooking. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, cooking, crocheting, especially making afghans and crocheted dresses, reading, collecting poems and training dogs. She also was an avid pitch player, enjoyed playing dominoes and watching sports, especially the Kansas City Chiefs, University of Kansas and Kansas State University, and was an avid collector of ceramic birds. Funeral was at First Christian Church, Syracuse. Burial was at Syracuse Cemetery. Garden City Telegram 5/27/08
