Description	:	The Burlington Hawkeye, Wednesday, October 23, 2002 Delbert "Deb" Finley, 76, of Wapello, died Tuesday afternoon, October 22, 2002 at his home. Born December 30, 1925, in Morning Sun, he was the son of Lula Finley. He married Betty Marlette on July 20, 1950 in Morning Sun. Mr. Finley worked as a heavy equipment operator at Alcoa in Davenport and then as a farm hand for several years in the Wapello Community. He then was a caretaker of the Wapello Cemetery and several other rural cemeteries in Louisa County. He was a member of the Louisa County Farm Bureau. He especially enjoyed cutting... Born December 30, 1925, in Morning Sun, he was the son of Lula Finley. He married Betty Marlette on July 20, 1950 in Morning Sun. Mr. Finley worked as a heavy equipment operator at Alcoa in Davenport and then as a farm hand for several years in the Wapello Community. He then was a caretaker of the Wapello Cemetery and several other rural cemeteries in Louisa County. He was a member of the Louisa County Farm Bureau. He especially enjoyed cutting wood in the timber and also enjoyed gardening, raising potatoes, and making sorghum. He always wished to help others in any way that he could. Survivors include his wife, five sons, Delbert Jr., William, John, Sam, and Harry Finley, all of Wapello; one daughter Susan Yakle of Wapello, 10 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and one daughter. The graveside service will be at 10:00 Friday in Edwards Cemetery in Oakville. _added per the request of Jane Cockayne Weaver (#48493052)
