Description	:	The sudden death of Mrs. John Bricker which occurred at her home north of town, Friday morning was a shock to the entire community. She prepared and ate her breakfast and was doing her morning work when stricken with a heart attack which caused her death. Della Austelle, a daughter of Samuel and Nancy Joy was born October 25, 1870, in Macomb, Ill., and died November 3, 1939, at her home in Fairmont at the age of 69 years, 8 days. She prepared and ate her breakfast and was doing her morning work when stricken with a heart attack which caused her death. Della Austelle, a daughter of Samuel and Nancy Joy was born October 25, 1870, in Macomb, Ill., and died November 3, 1939, at her home in Fairmont at the age of 69 years, 8 days. She moved with her parents to Dorchester, Nebr., in the year of 1877 and there grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to John E. Bricker, Dec. 9, 1896, at Wilber, Nebr., who survives. They made their home near Crete for 14 years and in Jan. 1910, they moved to Florida, returning in November the following spring, moving to Fairmont, where she made her home until death. To this union was born one son, Rollin of Lincoln. Mrs. Bricker was a Christian woman and joined the Methodist church at Crete in 1900, and transferred to the Methodist church at Fairmont in 1911, in which she retained her membership. She was of a cheerful disposition and will be missed in the Aid Society which she enjoyed. She was always a ready and willing worker. Mourning her departure are her husband; son; daughter-in-law and little grandson, Rex, worshiped by his grandmother. Also surviving are four sisters: Mrs. Ema Harding of Friend, Nebr., Mrs. Ida York of Clarinda, Ia., Mrs. Susie McClurg of Hunnewell, Mo., Mrs. Rose Dillon of Dorchester, Nebr.; and three brothers, O.A. Joy of Lincoln, Ed Joy and Len Joy of Fairmont; also several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the home and from the Fairmont Methodist church at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon, the pastor, Rev. Robert L. Embree, officiating. A mixed quartet comprising Mrs. Ross Dorrance, Mrs. Charles Little, Oliver Moul and Wayne Nichols, sang favorite hymns, with Mrs. A.A. Ashby at the piano. Interment was made in the Fairmont cemetery. Pallbearers were K.H. Joy, Lester Joy, R.B. Joy, Vivian Kenney and Albert Martin (nephews of deceased) and Wesley Robbins. The Fillmore Chronicle (Fairmont) November 9th, 1939 page 3.
