Description	:	Edgar B. Joy, son of Samuel and Nancy Joy, was born April 4, 1874, at Macomb, Ill. He departed this life at Fairmont, Neb., January 27, 1956, at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 23 days. In 1877 the family moved to Saline county, Nebraska. He departed this life at Fairmont, Neb., January 27, 1956, at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 23 days. In 1877 the family moved to Saline county, Nebraska. September 23, 1896, he was united in marriage to Margaret M. Huegel. To this union was born a daughter, Gladys Martin, who preceded him in death September 30, 1953, a son, Raymond B. Joy, who now resides in Loveland, Col., and another daughter, Letha Porter, who now resides in Lincoln, Neb. The family resided on a farm near Dorchester for 15 years and in York two years, moving subsequently to Fairmont March 1, 1913. His wife, Margaret passed away May 3, 1933. February 27, 1936, he was married to Mary Porter. They made their home in Fairmont until the time of his passing. Mourning his passing are his wife and two children, Raymond B. Joy and Letha Porter; three grandsons, Harold Martin of York, Robert and Donald Porter of Lincoln; three great-granddaughters; two brothers; two sisters, six step-sons and many other relatives. Three sisters and a little grandson, Lyle Joy preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Sunday, January 29, at 2:30 o'clock at the Methodist church in Fairmont, Dr. Charles B. Hankins officiating. Two songs were sung by Oliver Moul, accompanied on the organ by Mrs. A.P. Stewart. Pallbearers were Don Beavers, Earl, Virgil, Glen , Leslie and Robert Porter.
