Description	:	Mrs. Della J. Harris,78, formerly of 300 E. Washington Street, Toledo, died at Bethesda Care Center, Toledo, Saturday, Jan 3, 1987, where she had been a resident since March, 1986. Funeral services were held from the Henderson Funeral Home, Toledo, at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon, with Rev. Chet Davis, pastor of First Methodist Church, officiating. Delores Harris was organist and chosen selections included "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In The Garden". Mrs. Wendell McCollister, Mrs. Leonard Flynn and Mrs Wayne Timm cared for the floral tributes. Mrs. Harris was born May 7, 1908 in Garwin, daughter of Fred and Ella Bruce Savage. SHe grew up in the Garwin area and attended the rural schools and the Garwin school, graduating from high school in 1927. She married Marion Harris on Jan 1, 1930 at Marshalltown. The couple lived in Marshalltown until 1947, when they moved onto their farm west of Toledo in the Fairview area. After Mr. Harris' death on Sept. 1, 1968, Mrs. Harris moved to Toledo. In March of 1986, failing heslth forced her to move to Betheda(sic) Care Center, Toledo. Mrs. Harris attended Otterbein United Methodist Church in Toledo. Survivors include a daughter, Jeannine (Mrs. Jerry) Schneider, Tama, two grandchildren, Kyle Quick and Debbie (Mrs. James) Sawtell; also four great-grandchildren, Michael and Andy Quick, Heather and Kameron Sawtell, all of Marshalltown. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother.
